    Role

    We are looking for Junior Mainframe Application Development Analysts to join the GBS development teams. These teams are responsible for the development and support of applications running on a time-critical infrastructure.
    You will be exposed to the delivery of complex business applications and be part of the Agile transformation Euroclear is embarking on.
    Typically, Application Analysts join our company in the role of Programmer. In this trainee role, they get intensive training and support, allowing them to build up their technical, functional and business expertise required for the Application Analyst role. After a positive evaluation, they are then evolving into the role of Junior Application Analyst

    As a programmer, your main tasks are:
    • Being provided with a design document, perform the related coding and testing activities in PL/1 following Euroclear guidelines
    • Clearly documenting your program specifications and testing cases/results to discuss it with your designer in line with Euroclear processes
    • Ensure all launch activities are foreseen under the supervision of a designer,
    • Provide support to our testing and operational teams in regards to the code under your responsibility
    • Being able to debug the application and perform defect management activities when applicable
    • Start producing design documentation for small and low complexity changes

    As an application analyst, your main tasks are:
    • Understand specific client needs or technical requirements. Liaise with the internal clients to better understand existing or new business processes and needs
    • Based on these needs, perform and document design analysis for small to medium complexity changes
    • Assisting senior designers in impact analysis, in case of complex applications or projects.
    • Supervise and asses the work of programmers implementing and testing design changes
    • Provide support to our testing and operational teams in regards to the code under your responsibility
    • As you grow in maturity, you will get assigned more complex design tasks and will take ownership of the evolution of one or more Applications in your domain, under the supervision of the Application Domain Owner. You will also be asked to join the Support team to handle questions or production incidents in your area. In both cases, you will be interacting more intensively and directly with Business staff and IT staff in different teams

    Required skills

    You have:
    • a Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, IT or Science-related degree (Bachelor, Master, PhD)
    • strong analytical skills
    • strong interest in IT and new technologies
    • interest in Finance, capital markets
    • ability to quickly adapt to an international and diverse company
    • self-learning ability (you're ready to dive into new technologies and extend your own expertise)

    No work experience is required. Any relevant practical experience in the domain (e.g. thesis, internships) is an asset.
